Issue:
When saving an quote to a SalesForce Opportunity, an error message appears: Fault Code (1227). entity type cannot be inserted: Product or Error adding product 'Product Name' Fault Code (1227). entity type cannot be inserted: Product This product will not be included in the salesforce.com Opportunity Cause: The Salesforce.com user login being used by QuoteWerks does not have the ability to create products in Salesforce. Solution: The Salesforce.com administrator will need to change the permission level of the account to be able to create Products and edit Price Books in salesforce.com The SalesForce.com User (Profile that the user belongs to) must have the following rights in salesforce.com: Under "Standard Object Permissions": - Opportunities: Read, Create, Edit - Price Books: Read and Edit - Products: Read, Create, and Edit As of 19 Nov 2014 in salesforce.com, you can access these from: 1. Click on Setup at the top of the screen in sf.com 2. Under Administration Setup on the Left, select Manage Users and then Profiles 3. Select the Profile that the user belongs to and select Edit 4. Scroll down to Standard Object Permissions |
