| Issue:
When user attempts to access the Data Manager for QuoteWerks Databases in the Medic Utility, they receive the following message: Runtime error 3709: The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context Cause 1: There are databases in the main QuoteWerks folder that are inaccessible. They may be corrupted or password protected. Cause 2: The Security database may be corrupted. Solution 1: You will need to remove any unused databases (.mdb files) from the QuoteWerks folder. Here is a list of the default databases installed with QuoteWerks 4.0: AuxData contacts docs dsources Exrates Lookup pricing Products Relation Security sync UI vendors You may have additional product databases created as well; you can find their names by going to Products -> Setup Product Sources in QuoteWerks. Compare the list above, including your product databases, with the list of databases in the QuoteWerks folder and move any that do not match onto the desktop. Once they're moved, try the Data Manager again. If you need to keep those databases, possibly for backup purposes, just store them outside of the main QuoteWerks folder and the issue should not return. This issue may also be resolved by upgrading to build 33 or above. Solution 2: You will need to send a copy of the security database in to QuoteWerks Technical Support for review. |
