Medic Command-Line Options

The Medic Utility supports command line parameters that can be used in conjunction with the command line used to start the Utility. This can be useful in scheduling automated repairs and compacts of QuoteWerks databases within the Windows Scheduler.

Available Command-Line Parameters

Command:

/r

Description:

Used to repair QuoteWerks databases. Access only.

Arguments:

None

Example(s):

/r

Command:

/c

Description:

Used to compact QuoteWerks databases. Access only.

Arguments:

None

Example(s):

/c

Command:

/f[:FileName]

Description:

Used to select the file or folder that maintenance is to be performed on. Access Only.

Arguments:

The FileName argument can have the following values:

 

None. If no FileName argument is passed, the operation will be performed on all the QuoteWerks databases in the \QuoteWerks folder.

 

The name of a QuoteWerks database file in the \QuoteWerks folder.

 

The name of a folder. The operation will be performed on all the QuoteWerks databases in the specified folder.

/f

/f:"docs.mdb"

/f:"Q:\Program Files\QuoteWerks"

/f:"Q:\Program Files\QuoteWerks\docs.mdb"

Command:

/exit

Description:

Used to close the Medic Utility. This is useful when used in conjunction with other command line parameters that perform an action, where you want to close the Medic Utility after the action has been performed.

Arguments:

None

Example(s):

/exit
