Act! 2005 and Higher

When saving a new quote, and Act! is running, a “Create/Update linked document under Documents tab” checkbox will appear on the Save Quote As window (as shown in the screen shot above). This option will create a Document record under the Act! Documents tab allowing you to easily track all the quotes you have done for each contact from the Act! contact record.

To view a quote list in the Act! Documents tab, double-click on the Document record. QuoteWerks will be launched and will open that quote. When Act! "links" or attaches a file to its Documents tab, it actually COPIES the file into Act!'s own Attachments folder. The attachment record listed under the Documents tab refers to that copy, and when clicked on, will open that copy — not your original file.

Creating a Document Attachment in Earlier Versions of Act!

Act! 4.0, 2000/5.0, and 6.0

When saving a new quote, and Act! is running, a “Create attachment under Notes/History tab” checkbox will appear on the Save Quote As window. When subsequently saving changes to this quote, the “Create attachment under Notes/History tab” checkbox will be disabled. This option is only available when saving a new document. This option will create an attachment record under the Act! Notes/History tab allowing you to easily track all the quotes you have done for each contact from the Act! contact record.

To view a quote attached in the Notes/History tab of Act!, double click on the attachment record. QuoteWerks will be launched and will open that quote.
