For ConnectWise PSA Users, there is now a setup option that enables the QuoteWerks Admin to require fields when creating/Updating a ConnectWise PSA Opportunity. The fields that can be made mandatory are Opportunity Type, Description, Source, and Campaign. The ConnectWise Opportunity will not be able to be created/updated until the specified fields have data entered. The Required Fields can be specified on the Connectwise Setup->Opportunities Tab->Required Fields Sub Tab.

For ConnectWise Manage Users exporting QuoteWerks Purchase Orders to ConnectWise Manage 2021.3, an error similar to "'The line number '1' already exists [ resource: purchaseOrderLineItem - field: ]" would be returned with more than One PO Line Item. This is due to a page count and Line item count issue in ConnectWise Manage (the ConnectWise Line Item issue documented in ConnectWise tickets 14460914 and 13694355). QuoteWerks development is using a workaround to enable Purchase Orders to be sent from QuoteWerks to ConnectWise Manage. This workaround will work for ConnectWise Manage 2021.3 users and higher.

For ConnectWise Manage users, there is a new option when configuring the QuoteWerks integration to ConnectWise to determine what the taxable status of a group header will be when sent to ConnectWise. The taxable status can be fixed as taxable, not-taxable, or calculated based on if any group member is taxable or not. With the last option, if any group member is taxable, the group header will be taxable. If no group members are taxable, the group header will not be taxable. This option is configured on the Bundles sub-tab of the Products Tab on the ConnectWise Manage Setup.

For ConnectWise Manage users, when writing Recurring Forecast Lines or Products to the ConnectWise Opportunity, if the Start and End Dates are not specified, there is now a setup option to default the dates to be "one month" or "one year" from the Opportunity Close Date. The previous behavior would set the recurring end date to be one year from the Opportunity Close Date. This option is useful because ConnectWise Manage takes the value of the contract (ie 12 months * price) when setting the value of the opportunity line item which inflates the value of the opportunity at a glance.

For ConnectWise Manage users, when QuoteWerks was creating a Contact in ConnectWise and the ConnectWise Manage field used for "Mobile Phone" could not be determined, the contact creation would fail. If there is not a Communication Type in ConnectWise Manage as a "phone type" named "Cell" or "Mobile", the mobile field filled out in QuoteWerks will not be sent to ConnectWise Manage when creating a new contact. This fix will work for ConnectWise Manage v2020.1 and higher.

There are new options that control what QuoteValet Links to attach to the ConnectWise Manage Opportunities. There are options for 'Attach QuoteValet EXTERNAL Viewing Link', 'Attach QuoteValet INTERNAL Viewing Link', and 'Attach QuoteValet Sales Rep Facing Page Link'. By default, the option to attach all of the links will be set for backwards compatibility.

For ConnectWise Manage Users, when creating a Sales Order in ConnectWise when converting an Opportunity to 'Won', the Sales Order in some cases would not be created even when items were on the ConnectWise Opportunity. This is a timing issue in the ConnectWise Manage API "/procurement/products/count" endpoint. QuoteWerks development has implemented a workaround to address the ConnectWise issue documented in ConnectWise ticket 12798352 that was submitted to ConnectWise in 2019 and is still open. If ConnectWise fixes the issue, the workaround will not be used in favor of a proper method.

When an order type document is open in QuoteWerks and you open the Purchasing window, the "Currently Open Order" scope will be set in the filter on the Purchasing tab. When this is set, and the [Place Online Order->Create PO] button is clicked, the PONumber for the online order would default to, for example, POAAAO1244, where "AAAO1244" was the document number that is currently open. Now, it will default to being empty. This change makes this now consistent with the behaviour when selecting items from multiple order documents where the PONumber starts out blank and then you press the [...] button to obtain the next PONumber. Under the Utilities->Vendor Maintenance when editing a vendor you can specify a "Vendor PO Prefix/suffix" field. It can be a maximum of 3 characters, so for "Tech Data" you can specify "TD" and then the auto generated next po number for a Tech Data online order would be, for example, 20-1534TD. If QuoteWerks is configured to export purchase orders to QuickBooks, Peachtree, or ConnectWise, this same PO number will be used when creating the purchase order in the accounting software. You will want to reset the unique numeric sequence each year and this can be done on the Installation tab of the Tools->Options menu. The short nature of the PO number format takes into account that QuickBooks has a very small 11 character max po number and Ingram Micro being the next at 18 characters.

For ConnectWise Manage users with ConnectWise Manage 2020.3 and higher, clicking on the [Test] Button on the ConnectWise Manage Setup in QuoteWerks for the Credentials would return a false negative for 'Cannot Access ConnectWise Report Names'. This relates to ConnectWise ticket#13866467. If this issue is encountered, QuoteWerks will query ConnectWise Manage for a list of entities that the API user does not have access to.

If you double click on the left column header, you will be prompted if you want to copy the mapped pairs to the clipboard. If you double click on the right column header, you will be prompted if you want to copy all of the available mappings to the clipboard. Copying the available mappings to the clipboard is helpful, because you can use this data to import into F2 Lookup values including the ItemType in QuoteWerks.

This would cause an error if the expected close date for the opportunity was a day or more in the future. The Recurring Start for an opportunity item in ConnectWise cannot be before the expected close date for the opporutnity. In these cases, the start date for recurring items if not specified will be defaulted to the close date of the opportunity.

This can be done on the opportunity level with the EventAction of "CRMOppHeader_CreateUpdate". Information can also be copied at the line item level when QuoteWerks is creating/updating ConnectWise Manage opportunity product items using the EventAction of "CRMOppItem_CreateUpdate". The DataLink is bi-directional so after the Opportunity is created/updated in ConnectWise Manage you can setup a DataLink mapping to copy information from the ConnectWise Manage opportunity back into the QuoteWerks quote for fields at the opportunity level. This functionality also is available when creating a new QuoteWerks quote from a ConnectWise Opportunity via the QuoteWerks Opportunity Dashboard or via the Quote button on the ConnectWise Manage Opportunity. As an example, At the Opportunity Item level, this new functionality enables you to control what QuoteWerks Line item field is mapped to the ConnectWise Manage Description and Customer Description fields. While At the Opportunity Header Level, this new functionality enables you to populate the ConnectWise Manage Opportunity Notes field from a QuoteWerks field and also exposes the Opportunity Custom Fields to be mapped as well.

For ConnectWise users, when selecting a ConnectWise Opportunity to update or updating an existing linked opportunity, ConnectWise Opportunities with a "Won" status (that is not also a closed status) were available to be updated in QuoteWerks. This is due to a change in ConnectWise Manage behavior. This would cause an issue if a Sales Order/Ticket/Agreement was created in ConnectWise and products were added to it, resaving the document in QuoteWerks would remove all of the products from opportunity and also from the Sales Order/Ticket/Agreement (since they were linked). The re-added products to the ConnectWise Opportunity would not be linked to the Sales Order/Ticket/Agreement.

The public ConnectWise API does not support the ability to set the DocumentTitle for the attachment, so the DocumentTitle will be the same as the file name. For ConnectWise users, when QuoteWerks creates ConnectWise service tickets, the service ticket that each line items is assigned to is now saved in the QuoteWerks line item. For the feature to be enabled, the SoldTo field cannot already be populated with a contact that was retrieved from ConnectWise. Also, the Company field and Contact field must both be populated. Purchase Order numbering sequence. There is now a purchase order unique numbering sequence that you can now use in the PONumber field when creating a new manual purchase order or a new electronic order. This field also supports the F2 key while will display the F2Lookup list which can lookup a PO number from an external source. The PO number will be formatted, for example, like 14-1001TD. The "14" indicates the year of 2014. The "1001" is the unique numeric sequence. The "TD" is an identifier to indicate that the purchase order was for Tech Data. You can choose to have a vendor this vendor identifier or not. Under the Utilities->Vendor Maintenance when editing a vendor you can specify it in the "Vendor PO Prefix" field. It can be a maximum of 3 characters. If QuoteWerks is configured to export purchase orders to QuickBooks, Peachtree, or ConnectWise, this same PO number will be used when creating the purchase order in the accounting software. You will want to reset the unique numeric sequence each year and this can be done on the Installation tab of the Tools->Options menu. The short nature of the PO number format takes into accounts QuickBooks very small 11 character max po number and Ingram Micro being the next at 18 characters.

There is now a Purchase Order Integration option to set under the Tools->Options menu. This same selection is in the setup wizard and is also on the Settings tab of the ConnectWise setup window, QuickBooks setup window and Peachtree setup window. So now you choose which accounting you are integrating with rather than QuoteWerks giving you options and asking every time which accounting you want to export purchase orders too. On the Purchasing window, there are now only two action buttons. The first action button is one to create a Purchase Order in QuoteWerks and optionally exports the purchase order to your designated accounting software. The second action button first creates an online order and then creates a Purchase Order in QuoteWerks and optionally exports the purchase order to your designated accounting software.

For ConnectWise users, added an option "Enable multiple Quotes per Opportunity" so this behavior can be controlled. For new installations, this option is disabled by default. If enabled, this option to associate multiple quotes with a single ConnectWise opportunity is an older behavior that is no longer supported. This option is only here for existing ConnectWise users that are still relying on this behavior. For all others, this should not be checked as ConnectWise itself does not support having multiple quotes per single opportunity.

For ConnectWise users, ConnectWise Bundles are now supported in ConnectWise Opportunities. When creating/updating a ConnectWise Opportunity QuoteWerks "Grouped Bundles" are now created in the ConnectWise Opportunity as Bundles (under the Forecast tab). With this new support, in the ConnectWise Opportunity you will see the bundle header and the corresponding products that make up that bundle. This replaces the functionality where the bundled items were de-bundled and only sent over to the ConnectWise Opportunity as individual product line items with no bundle grouping at all. With this set of changes, we still retain the option "only create a single summary product in ConnectWise (not the individual group items)" for any customers that prefer this. The QuoteWerks bundle item attributes of HidePrice and HideQuantity are transferred over to the ConnectWise Opportunity bundle. When QuoteWerks creates the ConnectWise bundle in the ConnectWise Opportunity, for the ConnectWise Bundle Product ID it will use the Product ID specified in the setup field 'ConnectWise Bundle Product ID' on the Products.Bundles tab of the ConnectWise setup window. If the Group Header line item in QuoteWerks has a value entered in the field that is mapped to the ConnectWise Product ID then QuoteWerks will attempt to use that Product ID as the ConnectWise Opportunity Bundle line Product ID. If the Product ID does not exist in ConnectWise, QuoteWerks will create it. When Bundle Products are created in ConnectWise, all applicable standard product mappings like Product Type, Category/SubCategory and Unit of Measure are applied when creating the new Bundle Product.

For ConnectWise users, added support for the ConnectWise [Quote] button on the ConnectWise Sales Opportunity. When clicking on this button, it will create a new quote based on the ConnectWise Sales Opportunity if there is no quote for this opportunity, and if there is already a quote for the ConnectWise Opportunity it will simply open the existing Quote in QuoteWerks. To setup in ConnectWise, on the left menu bar, Choose "Setup", then "Setup Tables". For the Category, choose "Opportunities", then for the "Table" choose "Quote Link". On this screen you can create a Quote Link that is different for each Business unit. Use the following URL string in the Quote Link: quotewerks://quotebutton?Source=ConnectWise&SoldToCMOpportunityRecID={opportunityid}. Also set the option to "Open in new window", and do not click on the [Test] button.

For ConnectWise users, there is now a ConnectWise Integration Mode of "Primary CRM" and "Not Primary CRM". This lets ConnectWise users use QuoteWerks with a CRM like MS CRM to do all their prospecting and quoting. Then, when the quote becomes an order, at that time, using QuoteWerks, they can create the customer in ConnectWise and have QuoteWerks create the sales opportunity, products, and service tickets, etc in ConnectWise. Since QuoteWerks integrates with all 12 of the leading CRM packages, you could use any of these CRMs with QuoteWerks and then once the quote becomes an order, this functionality would allow you to export to ConnectWise. To use ConnectWise in this mode, you will need to choose ConnectWise on the Contacts->Setup Contact Manager menu, and go into the ConnectWise setup and on the Settings tab, choose the "Not Primary CRM" mode. While in the ConnectWise setup screen, make all the setup changes and click on [Ok]. After doing this, back on the Contacts->Setup Contact Manager window you will need to re-select the CRM that you want to use as the Primary CRM and click on [OK]. Once this setup is complete, a Tools->Export To ConnectWise menu will appear and that menu is used to perform the export.

For ConnectWise users, quotes can now be created starting with ConnectWise Opportunities. When a new opportunity is created in ConnectWise or an existing opportunity in ConnectWise is set to have an opportunity status of "CreateQuote", the ConnectWise Opportunity will appear in the QuoteWerks My Summary Dashboard under the Notifications section. From there you can click on the "Create Quote for ConnectWise Opportunity" link. This will create a new quote in QuoteWerks and populate the SoldTo information with the customer information associated with the opportunity. The description from the opportunity will be copied into the internal notes field on the Notes tab. It will also associate the opportunity with the quote so that when saving the quote this existing opportunity will be updated. This feature was designed so that you can have a person out in the field creating a new ConnectWise opportunity using ConnectWise mobile and just enter some basic specifications for the opportunity. Then back in the office, the person assigned to create quotes will automatically be notified that they need to create a quote for this opportunity. The same concept applies even if the opportunity is created using regular ConnectWise vs ConnectWise Mobile.

There is now a 'My Summary' Dashboard in QuoteWerks. It shows a summary total number and total amount of quotes and orders from this month, last month and two months ago. It also shows all the sales' reps quotes that expire within the next 7 days. It also shows any opportunities in ConnectWise that a quote has been requested for. There is a link on the expiring quotes for QuoteValet users to easily post a comment on the expiring quote on QuoteValet to remind the customer that the quote is expiring soon. It also shows a list of all the document that have been recently opened. Pressing the F5 key on the Dashboard will refresh it. The Dashboard is accessible through the new Dashboard icon on the toolbar.

Additionally if using the Online Ordering feature of the real-time module, after the items are ordered you will be asked if you want to create a Purchase Order in ConnectWise for the items you just ordered electronically. On the ConnectWise Product screen, the field labeled "Description" is what is mapped to the QuoteWerks "ShortDescription" field on the Product Lookup. Attach File to CRM feature. With this feature you can automatically and manually attach files to your CRM. When emailing a quote to your customer as a PDF file, the PDF file will automatically be attached. When uploading a quote to QuoteValet and Emailing the customer the notification, the PDF file of the quote will automatically be attached. You can manually attach a file to your CRM by right clicking on a file in the Links tab, on the Print Preview window, and also from the Print window Save as PDF option. This makes the PDF version of the quote viewable by any colleagues that have access to the CRM record without having to have QuoteWerks installed. Particularly useful for the service or technical side of the business having access to the details of the job that was quoted. This new feature is turned on by default and can be controlled with the setting "[]Automatically attach PDF sent to customer by E-Mail or QuoteValet to the CRM Account or Opportunity." located on the Print tab of the Tools->Options menu.When using this feature with Autotask, ConnectWise, salesforce.com, you need to attach the quote to an opportunity first. Once the quote is associated with the CRM opportunity, QuoteWerks knows to automatically attach the PDF to the CRM Opportunity. When using this feature with ACT! 2005+, GoldMine, Outlook, Outlook BCM, MS CRM, Maximizer 10+, SugarCRM, and SalesLogix you need to link the quote to a CRM contact first. In short, when you delete a ConnectWise company, the contacts under that company are deleted too. The deleted Company is put into the Company Recycle bin. For ConnectWise users, you can now attach files to the Documents tab of the ConnectWise Opportunity through the Create/Update ConnectWise Opportunity window. You can either select a file using a file selection dialog, or choose a file that is already linked to the quote under the Links tab on the Quote WorkBook. This is really useful for attaching a PDF version of the quote to the ConnectWise Opportunity. Having a PDF version of the quote is an advantage because anyone can then view the quote - they do not have to have QuoteWerks installed on their machine to view the quote. You can attach multiple PDF files to the opportunity, so you can easily attach the customer proposal, and a no frills plain vanilla version for the service technicians to follow, and basically anything else you could want.

For ConnectWise users, the drop down list of existing ConnectWise opportunities on the Create/Update Opportunity window is now sorted alphabetically.

For ConnectWise users, when selecting a contact to use in the quote, if the contact has multiple sites associated with it, you will be able to choose the particular site you would want to use. Sites can be designated as Primary, Default Ship, Default Bill, and Default Mail. These designations are indicated in your selection list. Additionally, when selecting a Ship To contact for the quote, the Default Ship site will be the default selection.

For ConnectWise users, there is now a new [Unlink] button on the Create/Update Opportunity window. This is useful when accidentally attaching a quote to the wrong opportunity in ConnectWise. With this feature all entries relating to the QuoteWerks Quote will be removed from the ConnectWise opportunity including: Forecast lines, products listed under the Products Tab, services listed under the Services Tab, the document attachment under the Documents Tab, and the Call activity under the Activities Tab.

Added Opportunity Name default on the Misc tab of the Tools|Options menu. Macros are supported. With this, the default Opportunity names can be more descriptive and therefore more useful. Currently this is only used with ConnectWise opportunities.

ConnectWise 2010 is now supported with new built-in ConnectWise link. This new integration is available in the Corporate Edition of QuoteWerks. The integration includes: a) ConnectWise can be searched to find Contacts to pull into the quote. b) QuoteWerks will create/update a Sales opportunity in ConnectWise. You can attach to existing ConnectWise opportunities or create new opportunities in ConnectWise. You can even attach multiple quotes to the same ConnectWise opportunity. QuoteWerks creates forecast lines in the ConnectWise opportunity breaking down the forecasted amount by Product, Service, Managed Service, and Other. This enables you to quickly glance at your opportunity to see your revenue breakdown. Recurring revenue forecasting options are also supported. Products and Services can be optionally be automatically created under the Products and Services tabs respectively in the ConnectWise opportunity. These products are also created and updated in the ConnectWise master product database. c) QuoteWerks will create/update an attachment to the quote under the Documents tab in the ConnectWise Opportunity. This can be used to open up the quote that the opportunity refers to. If this is a remote install or satellite office, opening that document link will import that quote into that QuoteWerks installation. d) QuoteWerks will create/update a call activity in ConnectWise used to follow up on the quote. This call will be linked to both the ConnectWise contact and the ConnectWise Opportunity. e) The QuoteWerks DataLink feature can be used with ConnectWise enabling you to retrieve information like Terms and shipping method from the ConnectWise contact into the quote. f) When printing, QuoteWerks can retrieve Contact data from ConnectWise and include it in the printed output. g) ConnectWise Contact data can be retrieved using the F2 Lookup macro of ~ConnectWise_Macro(). h) QuoteWerks can link to the ConnectWise product database as a Product Data Source. From within QuoteWerks you can search the ConnectWise product database, and add these products to your QuoteWerks quote. i) The integration communicates directly with the ConnectWise backend, so the ConnectWise "fat" client does not need to be running for the integration to work. This is particularly useful if you do not have ConnectWise or QuoteWerks running. In this case, if you want to create a quote, you only need to open QuoteWerks.
