Naming Conventions
There are naming conventions used throughout this manual used to refer to certain items or actions consistently. For example:
•the words “product,” “part,” and “item” are used interchangeably
•the words “zip,” “zip code,” and “postal code” are used interchangeably
•the word “quote” is often used interchangeably with the word “document” (since a quote is the most common document type), but “document" can also refer to an order or invoice
Miscellaneous Conventions
Whenever QuoteWerks needs you to find and select a part number, it will display the Product Lookup window. Once you’ve found the item you’re looking for, you need to double-click that item to select it and return to the previous dialog.
QuoteWerks Standard and Professional Editions use a Microsoft Access 2002/2003 backend database. This type of database has a .mdb file extension. Throughout this Help file, we’ll refer to .mdb files, which refer to the Standard and Professional Edition.
If you’re using the QuoteWerks Corporate Edition with MS SQL backend, please disregard references to .mdb files. A QuoteWerks database replaces Access-database files in MS SQL, and the data is then stored in tables.
