Important:   Contact tech support before moving the QuoteWerks installation.  If done improperly, you will lose your data.  The following instructions are for reference only and should only be used once you have spoken with support.

Note:Be sure no one is using QuoteWerks before performing this procedure.

Moving QuoteWerks Server installation to another server

In order to move your QuoteWerks installation to another server, please perform the following steps:

1. Locate your QuoteWerks Directory/folder on your server. If you are unsure, open QuoteWerks and click on Help->About, select the System tab and the Install Path is shown.

2. Make a backup of the entire QuoteWerks folder

3. Copy the ENTIRE QuoteWerks Directory into the folder you want QuoteWerks to be in the new location. (For Example: F:\Shared Apps\)

4. Once the copy completes successfully delete the QuoteWerks folder from the original machine.

5. Once the QuoteWerks Directory (folder) has been placed at your desired location/share, go to any workstation on your network and navigate to the QuoteWerks folder share. Inside the QuoteWerks Directory/folder you will find a file named   NSETUP.EXE.

6. Double click on NSETUP.EXE to launch the file (Node Installation program)

7. That's it. You're all done! You can now launch QuoteWerks from that workstation. Repeat step 6 for each workstation/node on your network.

Additional Items to Note

1. You will want to map the drives PRIOR to running the NSetup on the workstations. Do not map directly to the QuoteWerks Directory! (For example: If you put QuoteWerks in F:\Shared Apps\QuoteWerks, you will map your network drive to either "F" or "Shared Apps" - not QuoteWerks.)

2. Make sure that you give all users FULL CONTROL Folder Permissions to the QuoteWerks directory/folder on your server!

Moving QuoteWerks installation to another workstation

Important:   Contact tech support before moving the QuoteWerks installation.  If done improperly, you will lose your data.  The following instructions are for reference only and should only be used once you have spoken with support.

Only use the following instructions if you are a stand alone user (e.g. you only have one license and QuoteWerks is installed on your workstation, not the server).

1.  Make sure that your current version of QuoteWerks is  at Version 4.0 Build 51 (Windows 7), Version 4.7 build 8 (Windows 8), or Version 5.2 Build 5 (Windows 10) higher before moving your data. Version information can be found under the Help -> About menu.

2.  On the new workstation, create a folder on your "C" drive and call it "Applications" (c:\applications).

3.  Copy the ENTIRE QuoteWerks folder and all of its contents from the original computer (if you were running Windows XP, QuoteWerks can be found in the "c:\Program Files\" directory if you are running Windows 7 or 8 then it will be in "c:\Applications\") and place it into the Applications folder on the new system.

If, on your old system, you are unsure where the QuoteWerks folder is then: Open QuoteWerks and click on Help->About, select the System tab and the Install Path is shown.

4.  Once the folder is copied, make sure no other programs are running and locate the Nsetup.exe file in your QuoteWerks folder and right-click it, and then click, "Run as Admin..."

5.  When the NSetup has completed, you should now be able to launch QuoteWerks.

Tip:QuoteWerks cannot run as a 64-bit application. Your operating system should be able to run it as a 32 bit.
